I was diagnosed in my senior year of high school and on my way to college. College was very difficult. I had two beautiful roommates and I felt awkward having to inject myself every day. There were many days that I skipped. But slowly, I learned to accept that this was Something I had to live with 24 seven. I just retired from teaching. I love to travel and I’ve been to many many placesI have had some side effects, including a heart attack when I was 56. But I survived would have come to learn through having diabetes in my life is that life is a series of adjustments. Unless you adjust to your situation, there will be consequences. It’s a good life lesson. Also remember that life is sweet and you don’t have to bowl this for it.
