Lacey

From her mom, Andrea:

Lacey was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was just six years old. It was right after Christmas. She had lost weight and became pretty lethargic. We just thought she was experiencing a post-Christmas let down. But, she was also eating a ton for a super skinny six year old and it just didn’t make sense. After a quick trip to the doctor to have her checked out we were told to head to the children’s hospital ER near us. Those were a scary few days! But today this beautiful 16 year old (she’s on the left in the image with her older sister) is living a full and happy life. She plays tennis, basketball and soccer. She’s in 5’11″, she’s in the FFA and the drama club at her high school plus starting to drive! As her parents, we couldn’t be more proud of how far she’s come from that sickly, skinny six year old!
