Jamie was diagnosed on November 24, 2015. It was a very scary tie and we had to find our new normal. She was determined to help the T1D community. We put on a Jamie’s Ride for a Cure in 2018 and 2019. We raised money for JDRF those two rides. In 2019, Jamie was the Children’s Congress Delegate for our areas chapter. It was a great experience and she was able to meet wonderful children for different states. In 2024, we put on another Jamie’s Ride to advocate and educate for T1D and T2D we donated all proceeds to Camp Too Sweet and Camp Bethel where the camp for kids with type 1 diabetes is held. Jamie does not let her diagnosis hold her back. My child is going to change the way the world sees T1D and T2D. Most people look everywhere to find their hero. I have the privilege to raise mine.
