I was diagnosed at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles as a 5 year old. I’ve seen so much advancement in diabetes therapy over the last 50 years! Urine test to CGMs, injections to closed loop pump systems. My diabetes affected my career path as I chose to work in clinical research for new drugs and devices. My 27 year old son was diagnosed with Type 1 a year ago. I am lucky because I’m well versed in T1D and have been able to help him adjust to this new life.
