I was diagnosed with type1 diabetes at the age of 7. I will be turning 46 this year. When I was young, we didn’t have all the amazing substitutes for sweets and food that we have now. It was hard during my teenage years having g diabetes. There was no one my age who had type 1. After High School and did my best to take care of myself but still had complications. I have had 2 kidney transplants. First one was in 2006 and when that one rejected I got a second kidney transplant in 2022. I’m thankful for my insulin pump and CGM as it makes monitoring and controlling my blood sugar so much easier.
