Logan

From his mom, Michelle:

Logan was diagnosed at age six. Thanks to his pediatrician and his teacher, we were lucky to have walked into the emergency room. With no family history, we were blind sighted! At six years old he was giving himself injections and wrapping up birthday treats at school to take home to eat later. He was always so responsible and strong. He never used diabetes as an excuse and still to this day he refuses to let it hinder his life now at 16. Today he utilizes technology and uses Omnipod and Dexcom and it makes his life a little easier but teenage attitudes and lifestyle makes everyone’s life a little more… “spicy”. Logan is driving now, and the first thing he did (without being asked) was equip his car with an emergency low kit he put together. When he was told it is his 10 year “anniversary” of having type 1, he was very surprised! he said. “Wow! It doesn’t seem like its been that long!” He is an avid dirt bike rider, mountain biker, rides BMX, he plays trumpet in GHS Marching Band, and he is a GHS varsity pole vaulter, he is still not letting his diagnosis slow him down!
