Olivia
From her father, Michael:
Olivia was just three years old when we were on vacation in FL and she started to show signs of Type1. Upon returning home and going to the doctor, our fears were confirmed. Our three year baby was diagnosed with Type 1. She has grown to become one of the most responsible 13 year olds you can imagine. Always a smile on her face despite her daily battles with highs and lows. The constant changing of pump sites and glucose monitors, and yet she manages it all along with being a very competitive athlete, playing softball and running track. We were told at diagnosis that with modern technology there will be a cure in five years, and we still hold out hope that day will come. But, for now, we enjoy each and every day and are grateful for the beautiful young woman she is becoming.
