I remember using a blood sugar tester that fit in a shoe box and waiting for 3 minutes after poking my finger. I remember years of insulin treatment with needles throughout the day. I remember all the years of using Lilly insulin to save my life.
Now 50 years later I am alive, healthy and happy. My diabetes is in perfect conditions and still continue to use Eli Lilly insulin.
The changes I have seen over the years have been tremendous.
I hope the future holds a cure but worried that the increase in Type 2 diabetes and the use of drugs to treat the condition and money made by drug sellers will inhibit the cure for type 1. I hope I am wrong.
