Question from Rhode Island, USA:

I use the Dexcom G7 CGM, I have an android phone and want to buy a compatible smartwatch that will show my glucose reading on the watch face. I understand that Dexcom G7 is compatible with Apple Watches. I don’t want to switch to Apple. I understand I’d need to use a 3rd party app with an Android smartwatch. I currently have a Samsung Smartphone and am looking to buy a Samsung Smartwatch. Do you have any recommendations or know which of the Samsung Galaxy Smartwatches are compatible with G7?

Answer:

From: Rayhan Lal, MD, MPH, PhD

Here is what I found that you can use – WearOS/Tizen/Garmin are all compatible through xdrip+

It sounds like you will need to use the xdrip app vs. the commercial Dexcom apps. Additionally, here is a video about smart watches for G7: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMieMnMgx8E
