My 19 year old son was diagnosed with type 1 five years ago. He has not been to his doctor recently and has not tested his levels in some time. He recently told me that he experienced something that may have been a seizure of some sort. It has not happened since, but I know his sugar levels are not good because he is urinating so often. Is this diabetes related?

Within the past two days I had readings of 45 mg/dl (2.5 mmol/L) and 50 mg/dl (2.8 mmol/L). Both times, I had no hypoglycemic symptoms. In the past, I have had symptoms(mostly trembling) that began whenever my sugars were around 60 mg/dl (3.3 mmol/L). What is happening?
