I just wanted to comment on a recent question in which a man had trouble with hypoglycemia after changing his infusion set and cartridge on his pump. Is it possible that he is putting Humalog that is straight out of the refrigerator into the pump into the pump? As the insulin warms up in the pump, it expands, therefore infusing slightly more insulin than anticipated.

It is unclear to me how Lantus (insulin glargine), which essentially has no peak in activity, will be effective in controlling the rise in blood sugar that naturally occurs in most individuals in the early morning hours. Don’t you foresee higher waking blood sugar values as a down side to this insulin?
