Question from Manchester, UK:
A friend of mine (age 25) is concerned that he may have diabetes, but won’t go to have any tests since he has a real needle phobia. Is there any way that you can conduct the test without needles?
Answer:
From: DTeam Staff
The diagnosis of diabetes may be easy from a clinical point of view even though a blood sugar is always required. Nevertheless, given your friend’s phobia with needles, an urine test to check it for sugar might exclude diabetes if it’s negative. However, if positive, a blood sugar will be needed to confirm the diagnosis.
