Both of our children have Type 1 diabetes, plus a family friend has low blood sugar. All 3 claim drinking tea reduces blood sugars. Could the tannic acid in tea cause this or a coincidence that this is happening?

I have not heard of that. As long as you do not substitute the tea for diabetes medication, it is fine to drink it, but I would say to do so in moderation.
