Insulin

Question from Yakima, Washington, USA:

Can insulin quit working for someone with diabetes?

Answer:

It is unlikely that insulin stops working. Rather, a person may require a larger dose of insulin or become more resistant to it. Examples where resistance increases include illness, some medications such as steroids, or weight gain.
