Question from Parkersburg, West Virginia, USA:
Do petit mal type seizures ever occur with type 2 diabetes?
Answer:
From: DTeam Staff
Seizures in diabetes are generally related to low blood sugar levels occurring as a consequence of an imbalance between diet, physical exercise and medication such as oral hypoglycemic agents or insulin. Nevertheless, a person with diabetes may develop, independently from diabetes, a neurological disease, such as epilepsy with symptoms of seizures. Ask your doctor or diabetes team for further help.
