Honeymoon, Research: Other Research
Question from Lake Grove, New York, USA:
Last month, my six year old daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. She is currently in the honeymoon period and her blood sugar levels have been consistently within her normal range. Her endocrinologist gave us an opportunity to have her put into a blind research study. The study will be testing the effect of pioglitazone on patients in the honeymoon period. Do you have any information on whether or not pioglitazone may extend the honeymoon period?
Answer:
The purpose of the study is likely to determine if pioglitazone may have that effect. By enrolling her in the study, you should receive additional information that may help you to decide whether or not to participate.
