Question from New York, USA:
Does the red Glucagon Emergency Kit need to be stored in the refrigerator? I always thought room temperature was fine. Do lancets expire? What about ketone strips once the vial has been opened? Is CWD given financial support by pump companies?
Glucagon does not need to be refrigerated.
Lancets don’t expire if unused. Urine ketone strips in a vial expire 90 days after the vial has been opened.
Almost all major diabetes companies who are involved in type 1 diabetes either advertise on the CWD web site or participate in CWD conferences, so, yes, CWD receives financial support from insulin pump companies.
