Question from Virginia, USA:

I am 18 years old and have had type 1 diabetes for 1.5 years. Recently, my left foot has been tingling and sweating a lot (never dry). My right foot sweats slightly less and also tingles. Is this a symptom of some type of neuropathy?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

It is unlikely (but not unheard of) that neuropathy can develop after just 18 months of diabetes. These symptoms need to be discussed with your physician and he can examine your feet to help determine if some neuropathy might be present.
