Question from Baldwin, Georgia, USA:

I have been on anti-seizure medications for epilepsy since I was 16 years old, and I have type 2 diabetes. What is the possibility that I do not have epilepsy at all, but rather, had a hyperglycemic episode for the half a dozen seizures I have had in the past 18 years?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

It would be unlikely that you had seizures as a result of a high blood sugar before your diagnosis of diabetes. There are many other symptoms that occur with hyperglycemia, but seizures are not common.
