Question from North Canton, Ohio, USA:

I have been unable to find what a gram of carbohydrate converts to as glucose by the body. Could you tell please me?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

It depends upon which exact kind of carbohydrate. Fruit sugar is fructose and sucrose. Milk sugar is galactose. Starches are long chain molecules of glucose hooked together hundreds and thousands long. All the complex carbs eventually break down into simple glucose molecules from the digestive process.
