I have type 1 diabetes, and I am wondering about adding oral medications to better control sugars and weight gain. Can metformin be taken in conjunction with insulin?

There is probably very little to be gained by adding an oral hypoglycemic agent to your insulin treatment regimen. This is the case with metformin or other medications
