If the average daily requirement of insulin is increasing rapidly in 16 years olds, what is the effect of type 1 diabetes on the growth at this age?

From: DTeam Staff
By age 16, most children would have had most of their growth. Normally the amount of insulin doesn’t affect growth, but diabetes control can affect growth especially if glucose control is very poor. However, the effects on growth at that age is not significant.
