I’m 18, I think I may have diabetes and so do my parents. Because of this, they want me to see a doctor tomorrow to get a blood test. I don’t mind, but I’m on birth control, and my parents don’t know about this so I’m worried that my blood test will show up that I’m on birth control, and thus my parents will find out. Will the blood test show this, or would it just check for diabetes?

I imagine that the only test which your doctor plans to do at this stage is a fasting blood sugar and the result will not in any way indicate that you are on birth control.

You could always tell the doctor to make sure he/she interviews you without your mother present, so you could feel free to discuss your entire health history.

A good idea may be to call the doctor’s office before going in, and tell the doctor or the staff about your needs, and they could tell your mother in a nice way that they wish to interview you without her there — that way it would not hurt her feelings when she is asked to leave and it did not come from you.

[Editor’s comment: The blood tests for diabetes (blood sugar level and HbA1c) will not show whether you are taking birth control medication.

Of course, if you have a thorough history and physical examination, one of the routine questions would probably be “are you taking any medication to prevent pregnancy?”. But there’s no specific reason that the doctor would order tests for contraceptive hormone levels, or for that matter, for pregnancy, when doing routine testing for diabetes.
