Is Insulatard a true replacement/alternative for Monotard? We have been advised to shift to it because Monotard is not available in penfills.

Insulatard (NPH) has a shorter duration of action than Monotard (Lente), but is perfectly safe. You should monitor sugars more carefully during the changeover.
