Diagnosis and Symptoms
Question from Falmouth, Michigan, USA:
Is it common for young children, aged eight to ten, to have seizures as a symptom of diabetes? She doesn't have any other symptoms, but she really kind of plump and, just recently, began having seizures. We can't seem to find the cause.
Seizures are not an expected symptom of previously undiagnosed diabetes.
[Editor’s comment: See Symptoms of Diabetes for more information on what symptoms might be expected.
