Is it true that the body continuously makes beta cells, but in a person with type one, they are destroyed as fast as they are made?

No, I don’t think that it is true. Beta cells are peculiar cells derived from nervous system cells and, once destroyed, they can’t be replaced. That’s why we have to transplant both pancreas or islet cells, which could be done only with immunosupression therapy.
