Question from Guayama, Puerto Rico, USA:
My last blood work included a test for TSH. The result was 0.48, with normal being 0.47 to 6.9. Is this hormone deficiency causing my hypoglycemia? Do I need treatment for this?

Your value is normal. There is no problem. It does not cause hypoglycemia. I often check this once a year to screen for low thyroid hormone in patients with type 1 diabetes. Patients with type 2 diabetes can have it checked less frequently.
