Question from San Carlos, Maldonado, Uruguay:
My 13 year old nephew, who was diagnosed with type�1 diabetes about two and a half years ago, always has sugars high enough to inject 30 units of NPH three times per day and sometimes she has to inject Regular insulin twice per day. Is this normal?

That sounds pretty normal to me — as long as the dosing has been reviewed, and your nephew is under the supervision of a physician comfortable taking care of kids and teens with diabetes.
