Insulin

Question from Plymouth, Michigan, USA:

My 13 year old son still takes Regular insulin at dinner. We have tried to switch to Humalog (mixed with NPH) for the dinner shot, but could not get a good morning number. We have switched back to Regular (he has a good reading for snack) and are getting good morning readings again. Are we doing the wrong thing?

You should avoid being driven by what the books say your son should need but rather, concentrate upon what his results tell you. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.
