Question from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA:

My 2 week old son shakes uncontrollably before feeding. We believe that he might be hypoglycemic. If so, what is the cure? Will he be on medicine? How long will he be on medicine? Would this be considered type 1 or type 2 diabetes?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

There are many reasons a child can shake before feedings. This is not likely to be hypoglycemia or diabetes. I would suggest contacting your pediatrician today to review the problems you are having with your son.
