Question from Virginia, USA:
My daughter has type 1 diabetes, and she has always had a different smell than my other children. Even though she washes her hair daily, her scalp has a distinct order. I was wondering if this has to do with diabetes. It’s not an offensive order, just a different one. Do children with diabetes have a different smell?

I don’t know of any reason why children with diabetes might smell differently, but then again I don’t know of any research looking into this.
