My daughter is newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. We are wondering how to handle the time change to Standard Time this week-end and still maintain our daily schedule (i.e., doing meals, blood tests, and insulin with 30 minutes of same time each day).

Answer:

A one hour time difference shouldn’t make a huge difference, although some people notice a slight change in their blood sugars the next day. Talk to your doctor for more details, but I don’t think that you’ll have any problems.
