Question from Kecskemt, Hungary:

My daughter was diagnosed with Type1 diabetes five months ago. If this “disease” is called autoimmune, is it a good idea to make her immune system stronger?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

In fact her immune system is perfectly strong — it was responsible for her own insulin producing cells being destroyed. A variety of immune therapies have been tried in diabetes but without success. The most important thing that you can do for her health is to ensure that her diabetes is well controlled and that you follow your diabetes team’s advice.
