Question from North Carolina, USA:
My eight year old son was diagnosed with diabetes about six months ago. Before that he was diagnosed with ADHD. Medications for ADHD did not help. He still has a problem writing and staying focused when his blood sugars are high or going up. Could high blood sugar levels mask as ADHD?

Many young children are “irritable” for unknown reasons when their blood sugar is high even when they don’t have a diagnosis of ADHD. I doubt high blood sugars were misdiagnosed as ADHD.
