My friend’s baby is 6 months old, was diagnosed with diabetes 2 months ago, is very unsettled, and does not sleep at night. We also suspect cystic fibrosis because he has had smelly stools since birth and eats all the time and is sweaty.

The symptoms you describe don’t sound like cystic fibrosis. However, your friend should openly discuss her worries with her doctor.
