Diagnosis and Symptoms
Question from England:
My mother suspects my son has bouts of low blood sugar because my brother had them when he was small, and the behavior pattern is similar. He starts the day fine and is usually okay up till lunch. He goes to nursery school at 12:45 pm and has to eat lunch at 12:00 noon on the dot. This is a bit too early for him so he doesn’t eat very much. He does get a snack of fruit at nursery school but has not been eating it (he is a very fussy eater!). I pick him up at 3:10 pm and he goes nuts. He wants to run everywhere, he goes up to people he doesn’t know and calls them names, he is incredibly grumpy and almost stressed, he is impatient and gets frustrated with everything and gets tearful. He is unable to control these spells and no amount of discipline in any form has any effect. This is out of his usual behavior when he is quite reasonable. He has had these spells before going to nursery but since starting they have become a very noticeable daily occurrence. Could this be blood sugar problems or am I paranoid thanks to mum?
