Question from India:

My niece is about 2.5 years old, and has diabetes. Day to day her sugar level varies: 480, 378, 240, 124, etc. There is some zigzag movement when she takes her medicine (insulin). She takes the insulin daily.

What is the remedy for this? Should she take the medicine daily or not?

Answer:

The glucoses in a 2.5 year old child with diabetes do vary a lot. Definitely, it is best for Type 1 patients to take insulin daily.
