Question from Louisiana, USA:

Our 12 year old daughter, who has type 1 diabetes diagnosed at age six and wears an insulin pump, plays sports and is in good health. However, we are having all kinds of problems getting her up in the morning. She seems to be in a deep sleep. Is this normal?

Provided her sugars are okay, this is normal teenage behaviour. They seem to need extra sleep for all that growing and developing.
