Question from Iran:

The ADA suggests a reduction in the amount of sodium consumed. How? Which foods have sodium?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

The best thing to do is read nutrition labels. Low sodium foods tend to have less than 140 mg/sodium per serving. When serving pre-made foods, make sure you add little or no salt. When cooking from scratch, you may wish to experiment with reducing the amount of salt that you would usually use. In countries such as the U.S., it is better to avoid eating out at restaurants as well, especially fast food restaurants such as McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Taco Bell, etc., since their foods tend to contain too much salt.
