Question from Cyprus:

Surfing the Internet, I have not come across the insulin that we are been prescribed here. The two types of insulin provided by the National Hospitals are Actrapid (short acting) and Insulatard (long acting). Are we behind as a country? Are we behind in developments?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

There are lots of different types of insulins. The two that you mention are just two of many and are, in fact, amongst the most common being used around the world. To learn more about insulins, you may want to contact the Cyprus Diabetes Association (P.O. Box 5354, Nicosia, Cyprus. Tel.357-2/352568)
