Meal Planning, Food and Diet

Question from Acworth, Georgia, USA:

What computer software program do you recommend for recipes? I’m using one from Cooking Light, but is there one that includes all the sugar substitutes, etc? If a recipe doesn’t have nutritional analysis included, it’s nice to be able to input the ingredients into this program and find out how many carbohydrates, etc., it has.

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

Our team dietitian recommends MasterCook Deluxe. It has a pretty large database of foods. You can find sugar substitutes by looking for items with 0 calories, 0 protein, 0 carbs and 0 fat. It also has the capacity to add to the database. So, you can add foods that aren’t in the regular database (e.g., specialty products or name brands).
