There are many excellent diabetes centers — some doing clinical research, some doing psychological or nutrition or education research, some doing very basic scientific research. You could check these journals to see some ideas: Diabetes, Diabetes Care, Diabetes Spectrum, Diabetologia, Endocrinology, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism.
