Insulin Analogs

advertisement
Question from West Haven, Connecticut, USA:

I heard about the new insulin Apidra. Will I be able to mix Lantus with Apidra? I am currently taking Lantus once a day in the morning and NovoLog three to four times a day before meals.

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

Nothing mixes with Lantus (or Levemir) because both these newer long-lasting insulin analogues have an acidic pH and this would change the functionality and availability of pH neutral other insulin preparations.
