Bruce
From his mom, Laura:
Bruce was diagnosed just before his second birthday. We had about a week between getting discharged from the hospital and the party we had planned well before. As we debated whether or not to cancel the party I decided that diabetes was not going to get in the way of him living his life and he has lived up to that sentiment thoroughly. He plays basketball, baseball, ran cross country, takes skiing lessons, rides horses and is active in scouts. Nothing slows him down. Bruce actually says he’s glad he has diabetes because of the experiences and friendships he’s had at diabetes camp and how tough (and good at math) it has made him. We’re still praying for a cure, but so proud of how he thrives with diabetes.
