Cameron
From his mom, Brandi:
Cameron was diagnosed in March of 2014 at six years old. We didn’t know much about diabetes or what his future would look like. I remember being so upset on our way to the hospital thinking he would never have cake again. This was a big deal to me because we celebrated birthdays BIG- like over the top big! After several tests, pokes, and so much information we were told Cameron could choose his dinner from the hospital menu. It looked like a normal restaurant menu with chicken fingers, pizza, and Cameron’s choice a cheese burger. We were told Cameron could eat anything as long as we bolused properly. A few days of more information, more tests, more pokes, and we were sent on our way to manage this disease from home. There were a lot of highs and a few lows and about a year of figuring it out. But everyday was easier. Cameron is now 16, plays three sports, is an honor student, and has his drivers permit. He’s an incredible young man who now gets two cakes a year, one on his birthday and one on his diaversary!

since 2014
