Cameron

From her mom, Bridget:

Cameron was diagnosed with Type 1 on 6/1/2015. We had just moved from New Jersey to Chicago, IL the night before. After the 800 mile journey to our new life in Illinois, Cameron was refusing to eat and walk ….stating her legs hurt. We took her to the hospital and then she was diagnosed with Type 1. It was shocking to me , since I am a nurse, and didn’t see the signs.

That first year was a blur but she was so young that it became part of her routine to check sugars and get insulin for food. Ultimately, The whole family benefited from tracking carbs and seeing what foods can do to blood sugars. We all started eating better.

Thinking on that day almost 10 years later, I am so grateful for Cameron. She is so strong, determined, smart, kind, beautiful, and funny. I cannot imagine my life without her and her touch of the sugars.

Thriving with T1D
since 2015
