I was diagnosed with diabetes when I was seven years old. At that time, everything was very different—there wasn’t much education about the condition or its symptoms, and the technology we have now to manage diabetes was lacking. Despite these challenges, diabetes has never been an obstacle to achieving my dreams or living a “normal” life like those around me. In fact, it has motivated me to strive for each of them.

I won’t say it has been easy; I’ve faced many situations that have shaped who I am today and contributed to my achievements. I have learned to be aware of my condition, to respect it, and, most importantly, to love myself for having it. Being diabetic makes me unique, and although I may need to make some adjustments, it ultimately enriches my life.
