I was diagnosed when I was 16 in 1996. My blood sugar was over 1,000. I spent over a week in the hospital. Started on injections from Humulin N, Humalog and eventually Lantus. I had hypoglycemia unawareness with it and switched to insulin pump therapy with Medtronic. I am currently using the Medtronic 780 G love it. I have never let diabetes stop me from doing anything. I have been a Registered Nurse since I was 20 years old. With hard work anything can be achieved.
