I wanted to recognize my dad who has been living with type 1 diabetes since 1963. As a child growing up I remember the good times and bad times of diabetes but my dad never let that get him down and he continued to work hard to provide a good life for our family and never missed any of my sporting events even through college. My dad has always been the rock and centerpiece of our family and I admire him for not allowing diabetes to hold him back from doing all the things in life that he has wanted to do.
