The CWD Journey Award is important to me because I have been able to never let diabetes stop me from doing what I have wanted to do. I am currently a sophomore in college, am a registered EMT, and have earned my black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I have been able to give back to the community by being a camp counselor at a sleep-away diabetes camp and have spoken with families of newly diagnosed children.
